Chief Rolling Stock Expert (K1) – Bidding Position

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a senior professional to lead rolling stock expertise for upcoming metro bids across India. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Chief Rolling Stock Expert will ensure that rolling stock specifications, procurement processes and system interfaces meet authority requirements and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update existing rolling stock specifications in line with authority requirements.
• Prepare pre‑qualification (PQ) documents for rolling stock procurement and evaluate bidder submissions.
• Manage program planning, scheduling and system interface coordination.
• Oversee procurement, installation and commissioning of depot equipment, train simulators and asset management systems.
• Coordinate with subsystems such as signalling, telecom, power supply, track and structures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and relevant codes.
• Conduct design reviews, obtain approvals and administer contracts.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Team Leader.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 20 years total professional experience.
• At least 7 years of experience relevant to rolling stock and metro projects.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior or equivalent position.
• At least 2 years of continuous work on a single relevant project.
