About the role

The Chapter Lead – Engineer role combines people leadership with deep technical expertise within ANZ's technology domain. You will shape a high‑performing culture, mentor engineers, and drive strategic workforce planning while influencing technology initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, fostering an inclusive and high‑performance culture.
• Define and uphold technical standards, patterns, and principles for the Chapter.
• Contribute to innovation projects, uplift technical capability, and support strategic workforce planning.
• Design and implement new architectural patterns, perform code and design reviews, and guide solution design.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional, Agile, and continuous‑delivery teams to deliver robust systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands‑on technical background with a can‑do attitude toward development, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Strong commitment to coaching, mentoring, and building team capabilities.
• Passion for software engineering excellence and willingness to explore new technologies.
