Category Expert – Strategic Sourcing

About the role

We are looking for a Category Expert to lead strategic sourcing for professional services at Bosch’s Bangalore hub. The role will drive sourcing projects, negotiate contracts and partner with internal stakeholders to deliver cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute RFx events for categories such as temporary labour, consulting, marketing, travel and training.
• Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, risk management and cost‑optimization targets.
• Perform spend analysis, market intelligence, benchmarking and total cost of ownership assessments.
• Lead negotiations on rate cards, statements of work, service agreements and framework contracts.
• Manage end‑to‑end sourcing activities including supplier identification, bid evaluation and contracting.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to improve performance, innovation and risk mitigation.
• Support supplier onboarding, performance reviews and compliance governance.
• Collaborate with regional and global category teams and ensure adherence to procurement policies.
• Utilize digital procurement tools, sourcing platforms and analytics to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably in indirect professional services.
• Proven track record in developing sourcing strategies, demand management and contract negotiations.

Required skills

• Experience with e‑auction platforms.
• Proficiency in procurement analytics and digital sourcing tools.
