Cashier – Branch Banking (Multiple Locations)

About the role

This role is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations for the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines, and for maintaining accurate entries in the relevant registers and online systems. The Cashier also performs end‑of‑day reconciliation and ensures a smooth cash handling function across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, and issue acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash against deposit challans, updating the system accordingly.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, explain repayment schedules, and promote cross‑selling of bank products.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• Graduation (any stream), preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions in a banking environment.
• Familiarity with financial modules/ERP for entry posting and accounting data consolidation.
• Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work under time pressure.
