Cashier (Branch Banking) – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the Branch Operation Officer in maintaining accurate cash registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and delivering superior customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare End‑of‑Day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of each day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables in safe custody.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Full‑time position reporting to the Branch Operation Officer.
• Experience in cash handling within a banking or financial services environment.
• Ability to follow banking guidelines, maintain accurate registers and perform end‑of‑day reconciliations.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with branch clients.
