Cashier – Branch Banking (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier will be responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments while delivering courteous customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate cash registers.
• Good numerical aptitude and ability to perform end‑of‑day reconciliations.
• Excellent customer service orientation with the ability to handle queries and grievances.
• Understanding of banking regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and senior officers.
