Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

This position is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations for a branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes end‑of‑day reconciliation, cash handling, and delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; send requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and inform them about new products and services.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to process cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Knowledge of internal and external banking guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Capability to maintain registers, perform daily cash reconciliation, and prepare end‑of‑day reports.
• Strong customer‑service orientation to handle enquiries, resolve issues, and promote bank products.
• Attention to detail for validating documents and ensuring audit compliance.
