Captain Waiter – Lead Dining Service

About the role

The Captain Waiter leads the dining area at our Udupi hotel, ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous service and a memorable dining experience. This full‑time, on‑site position coordinates table assignments, supervises waitstaff and works closely with the kitchen and management.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests, manage reservations and table turnover.
• Take and confirm orders, relay them accurately to the kitchen.
• Supervise and guide waitstaff, assist with training and performance monitoring.
• Monitor service standards, ensure food and beverages are served according to quality and safety guidelines.
• Handle guest feedback or concerns, providing timely resolutions.
• Support billing, payment procedures and maintain a clean, organized dining environment.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Experience in food‑service operations, preferably as a Captain Waiter or senior waiter in hotels or restaurants.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Attention to detail, good time‑management and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food & beverage operations, menu items and basic food safety.
• Effective communication for interacting with guests, kitchen teams and service staff.
