Buyer – Technical Procurement (Category Sourcing)

About the role
We are looking for a proactive Buyer to manage technical procurement for a manufacturing environment. The role involves verifying vendor specifications, conducting initial negotiations, and ensuring seamless ordering through SAP.
Key responsibilities
- Validate technical requirements against vendor specifications and flag any gaps.
- Initiate first‑round negotiations for assigned categories and relay outcomes to the Buying Manager.
- Generate and float enquiries based on user needs.
- Place purchase orders for approved items and record transactions in the SAP system.
- Address internal and external audit queries related to procurement, escalating when necessary.
Required profile
- B.Tech or B.E. degree.
- 2–6 years of experience in category‑based sourcing and manufacturing procurement.
- Exposure to supply management within plant operations.
- Strong analytical mindset and commercial acumen.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
Required skills
- SAP procurement module.
