Butler Service Desk Host

About the role

The Butler Service Desk Host provides front‑line telephone support for hotel guests, handling a wide range of requests, messages and special needs. This role ensures smooth communication between guests and hotel services while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

Key responsibilities

• Answer, record, log and process all guest calls, requests, questions and concerns.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, managing wake‑up calls, screening calls, do‑not‑disturb, call forwarding, conference calls, TDD relay and non‑registered guest calls.
• Advise guests of messages, monitor busy or unanswered lines, and offer to take messages.
• Activate or deactivate guest room message lights as required.
• Instruct guests on internet access and transfer technical issues to the provider’s support line.
• Test communications equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Coordinate with appropriate departments to resolve guest issues and follow up for satisfaction.
• Dispatch bell or valet staff when needed and adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses needed.

Required skills

• Telephone switchboard operation.
• Basic computer usage and POS system navigation.
• Internet troubleshooting for guest devices.
