Business Analyst – MIS Executive (Insurance)

About the role

The Business Analyst will support Kotak Life Insurance’s distribution and payout operations by translating business needs into clear functional specifications. This role focuses on commission calculations, rewards, and hierarchy management within a fast‑paced insurance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, document, and analyse business requirements related to distribution payouts, commission calculations, rewards, and hierarchy management.
• Liaise with business users, IT teams, and external partners to convert needs into functional specifications.
• Develop and maintain process flows, user stories, and business cases for system enhancements and new features.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation and timely delivery.
• Perform gap analysis, impact assessment, and root‑cause analysis for existing and new systems or processes.
• Support UAT, training, and deployment activities, providing business and technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational standards throughout system development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related field; MBA preferred.
• Strong understanding of life‑insurance products and distribution channels.
• Experience with commission, rewards, and hierarchy management systems in insurance or financial services.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and compliance standards.

• Advanced use of the MS Office Suite.
