Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, and loan repayments while maintaining the branch’s cash registers and vault.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; send requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and ensure accurate vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote cross‑selling of bank products.
• Educate customers on alternate channels for transactions and ensure compliance with all banking policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slips for audit purposes.
