Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time, onsite position ensures accurate cash handling, customer service, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and report in the Branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies.
