Band 5 Staff Nurse – Elderly Medicine

About the role

We are recruiting two Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the Department of Medicine for the Elderly. The role is 34.5 hours per week and offers the chance to work within a supportive, compassionate team delivering high‑quality care to older patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care to elderly patients, including assessment, planning and evaluation.
• Administer medication, monitor vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
• Support patients and families, offering information and emotional assistance.
• Adhere to NHS policies, infection control standards and professional guidelines.

Required profile

• Compassionate, hardworking individual with a genuine interest in elderly care.
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) – essential.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Willingness to undertake any required training.
• Ability to work 34.5 hours per week as part of a team‑focused environment.
