Baggage Screening Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Baggage Screening Supervisor to lead the safe and efficient screening of hold baggage at our airport facilities. The role ensures compliance with aviation security regulations and the detection of prohibited items, while coordinating with security partners and airline staff.

Key responsibilities

• Attend all mandatory regulatory trainings and maintain up‑to‑date certifications.
• Operate X‑BIS imaging equipment to identify dangerous goods, weapons, ammunition and other prohibited articles in check‑in baggage.
• Conduct physical inspections and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) tests on bags flagged by X‑ray screening.
• Maintain high Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation capabilities.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines, record findings and ensure audit readiness.
• Perform routine pre‑operational checks of X‑BIS, ETD, CT‑EDS and related security equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Collaborate with CISF personnel and airline staff during inspections and resolution of suspicious items.
• Provide timely operational updates to supervisors and manage screening efficiency.

Required profile

• Completed all regulatory training required for aviation security personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret security imagery accurately.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with CISF, airline teams and passengers.
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with BCAS and DGCA directives.

Required skills

• Operation of X‑BIS baggage screening equipment.
• Experience with Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) testing.
• Familiarity with CT‑EDS security scanners.
• Knowledge of Threat Image Projection (TIP) scoring.
• Understanding of BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) guidelines.
• Understanding of DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) regulations.
