Backend Engineer – API‑First Platform (E2)

About the role

BitGo is seeking a Backend Engineer (E2) to join its Ecosystem vertical and help build an API‑first platform that enables businesses and developers to launch crypto products. The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable, robust services that power BitGo’s digital‑asset infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable APIs, libraries, and services for the platform.
• Own functionality from inception through deployment and integration.
• Document and expose features to UI, third‑party developers, and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while ensuring performance and quality.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and continuously improve the codebase.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor peers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend and server‑side development experience.
• Strong algorithm design, problem‑solving and complexity analysis skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• Passion for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
