Automation Engineer - DERMS

About the role

ETAP is building a Global Support Group to provide first‑line technical assistance for its real‑time automation and control solutions, including Intelligent Load Shedding (ILS) and Automatic Generation Control (AGC). The role is based in India and supports utilities, industrial facilities and generation plants worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own and resolve Level 1 support tickets for ILS and AGC through Jira, aiming for a 24‑hour response and resolution.
• Perform systematic diagnosis, reproduce issues, isolate root causes and either resolve or route tickets appropriately.
• Troubleshoot ILS schemes (load preservation, restoration, shedding) and AGC functions (load‑frequency control, area control error, generator sharing).
• Provide broader DERMS portfolio support, including microgrid (uGrid) and power plant control systems.
• Document recurring issues and solutions in the Global Support knowledge base.

Required profile

• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher) for global client communication.
• Hands‑on experience delivering or supporting ETAP ILS and AGC projects, able to troubleshoot independently.
• Familiarity with eSCADA and PSMS platforms sufficient to navigate real‑time monitoring and control.
• Methodical troubleshooting mindset with strong written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent support cases across time zones.
