Audit Tax Assistant – Full‑time On‑site Role

About the role

The Audit Tax Assistant will join VirtuAxel’s audit and tax team in Mangaluru, providing on‑site support for audit and tax engagements. This full‑time position involves preparing working papers, assisting with statutory and internal audits, and ensuring accurate client documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and verify financial data for audit and tax assignments.
• Prepare and file tax returns and other compliance forms.
• Assist in the preparation of working papers and audit documentation.
• Reconcile accounts and ledgers under senior guidance.
• Coordinate with senior team members to meet deadlines.
• Respond to client queries under supervision while maintaining confidentiality.
• Contribute to process improvements and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting, auditing principles, and direct/indirect tax concepts.
• Ability to analyse financial data, document findings, and reconcile ledgers.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software; basic IT literacy.
• Effective written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and time‑management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related field (preferred).
• Internship or prior experience in audit or tax compliance is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Indian tax regulations and a commitment to professional ethics.
