Associate - Financial Crime Risk (AML, Sanctions & ABAC)

About the role

The Associate – Financial Crime Risk (AML, Sanctions & ABAC) joins ANZ's Financial Crime & Compliance Centre of Excellence within the Institutional Non‑Financial Risk function. Reporting to the Senior Associate – Risk Opinions & Oversight, the role supports the delivery of financial crime and fraud risk oversight across the Institutional business, ensuring risks stay within ANZ's risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Support the provision and documentation of financial crime and fraud risk opinions for high‑risk customers, products and activities.
• Partner with business stakeholders to manage financial crime risks within approved risk appetite.
• Prepare risk insights, management information and reporting for Institutional risk forums, governance committees and key stakeholders.
• Assist in collating and analysing information related to risk opinions and product or channel risk assessments.
• Provide feedback to product managers on risk mitigation controls and identify potential enhancements.
• Monitor financial crime and fraud risk profiles, flag emerging risks, trends and anomalies for further review.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in financial crime risk, AML, sanctions and ABAC frameworks.
• Ability to analyse data and produce clear risk insights and documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with subject‑matter experts, business stakeholders and risk teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to monitor risk trends across customers, products and channels.
