Associate Editor – Humanities & Social Sciences

About the role

Springer Nature is seeking an Associate Editor to support its Humanities and Social Sciences journals from its Pune office. Working in a hybrid model, you will help ensure rapid, high‑quality peer review and publication, contributing to the dissemination of scholarly research.

Key responsibilities

• Assess submitted manuscripts for compliance with journal policies and editorial thresholds.
• Identify and invite suitable peer reviewers, managing the review process efficiently.
• Make editorial decisions based on reviewer feedback and sound judgement.
• Provide consultation and editorial support to Assistant Editors, Journal Owners, and Editorial Board Members.
• Resolve manuscripts where editorial decisions are challenging.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on journal development, workflow improvements, and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent academic qualification.
• Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
• Broad scientific knowledge across humanities and social sciences.
• Commitment to excellence in editorial practices and a passion for academic publishing.
