Associate Data Center Operations Analyst – Mainframe Operations

About the role

Ensono is seeking an Associate Data Center Operations Analyst to join its Mainframe Operations team in Chennai. You will provide client‑focused support for mission‑critical mainframe infrastructure, handling system and batch monitoring, incident resolution, and customer communication in a 24x7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system messages, batch outputs, and ABENDs; identify root causes and take corrective actions.
• Execute job scheduling, start/stop subsystems (JES, IMS, DB2), and perform IPL activities.
• Create and manage incident and request tickets, providing detailed client reporting.
• Escalate issues based on severity and collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve problems.
• Support ad‑hoc job scheduling, printing, schedule restores, and project work as needed.

Required profile

• Excellent oral and written communication with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a flexible, team‑oriented environment.
• Effective time‑management and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Willingness to document work accurately and support senior team members.

Required skills

• 3‑5 years of Mainframe Operations experience (batch monitoring, console operations, IPL).
• Proficiency with scheduling tools such as OPC/TWS.
• Strong knowledge of MVS, VTAM, JCL, HMC, TSO, JES2, CICS, TAPE, SDSF.
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Problem, Incident, Change) and 2nd‑level support.
• Experience working in complex Sysplex environments and 24x7 shift rotations.
