Associate Data Analyst – Data Chapter

About the role

The Associate Data Analyst will join the Data Chapter of the Consumer Banking Group, supporting the bank’s data infrastructure and analytics platforms. You will work with business users to turn functional requirements into reliable data pipelines and ensure high‑quality data for downstream reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support data extraction, transformation, and validation processes using Sparkola, PySpark, and SQL.
• Build and manage batch and ad‑hoc pipelines via Sparkola Job Server, ensuring stability and performance.
• Utilise Cloudera Machine Learning (CML) environments for development, testing, and execution of Spark workloads.
• Guarantee dataset accuracy, traceability, and suitability for tools such as QlikSense and Superset.
• Engage with business users and analysts to translate requirements into technical logic and data models.
• Support production issues and provide data clarifications as needed.
• Manage deliverables in JIRA, adhering to timelines, priorities, and change‑control processes.
• Ensure compliance with DBS risk, security, and data‑governance standards.

Required profile

• Experience working in agile delivery models and using JIRA boards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to bridge business and technology.
