Assistant Tax Manager – Direct & Indirect Tax

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Tax Manager to support our organization’s direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and advisory functions. The role involves preparing tax filings, handling assessments, and ensuring adherence to all applicable tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file direct and indirect tax returns within statutory deadlines.
• Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other relevant tax laws.
• Perform tax computations, reconciliations, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist in tax assessments, audits, notices, and provide litigation support.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants on tax matters.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate tax records and compliance documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen tax compliance processes.

Required profile

• Semi‑qualified CA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 2–4 years of experience in direct and indirect tax.
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and the Income Tax Act.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems.
