Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of service, sanitation, and guest satisfaction. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Director, this role helps drive operational excellence during peak periods and contributes to menu planning and staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shift operations, handle employee questions, and monitor performance against expectations.
• Ensure all staff have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms; communicate food‑quality issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Maintain compliance with restaurant policies, sanitation standards, and local alcohol service laws.
• Manage budgeted goals, open and close shifts, and perform duties across restaurant areas as needed.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, resolve complaints, and promote exceptional customer service.
• Lead training initiatives, coach employees, and conduct performance reviews.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, etc., with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
