Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, menu planning, and sanitation standards while ensuring high levels of guest and employee satisfaction. This full‑time, onsite role reports to the Restaurant Director or Manager and steps in to lead the team during peak periods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising restaurant and bar areas, including room service when applicable.
• Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address questions or concerns.
• Ensure all staff have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Maintain compliance with restaurant policies, sanitation standards, and local alcohol service laws.
• Manage budgetary goals and perform opening/closing duties.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, resolve complaints, and uphold service standards.
• Supervise training initiatives, coach staff, and enforce performance expectations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, etc., with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to lead a restaurant team, handle guest issues, and meet operational targets.
• Strong communication skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
