Assistant Manager – Techno‑Commercial Procurement

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Techno‑Commercial Procurement supports the development and execution of site‑specific procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and compliance with policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate purchase requisitions, selecting appropriate procurement methods based on stock, contracts, urgency, value and delivery timelines.
• Manage strategic sourcing for CAPEX, OPEX, bulk materials and services, preparing RFI/RFP documents and conducting vendor evaluations.
• Lead negotiations, e‑auctions and cost‑optimisation initiatives, preparing approval notes in line with delegation of authority.
• Draft, issue and maintain contracts using SAP/ERP templates, coordinating vendor documentation such as ABG and CPBG.
• Monitor order fulfilment, resolve supply issues, process amendments and manage logistics for timely delivery.
• Identify, onboard and evaluate new suppliers, maintain approved vendor databases and support vendor code creation via MDG/Ariba.
• Assess supplier performance, develop scorecards and drive improvement initiatives.
• Analyse procurement data, support spend and commodity analysis, generate reports and dashboards for management.
• Identify procurement risks, assess impact and likelihood, and develop mitigation plans.
