Assistant Manager Production

About the role

The Assistant Manager Production will oversee daily manufacturing activities, ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This role requires close coordination with operators, shift supervisors, and cross‑functional teams to deliver continuous feed to downstream processes.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate scheduled activities and manpower to operators according to the production plan.
• Ensure discipline, adherence to SOPs, and compliance with GMP/HSE standards.
• Monitor and prioritize workflow to maintain continuous feed between dispensing, granulation, compression, and coating/packing.
• Conduct shift handovers, communicating vital product and process information.
• Verify that in‑process tests and quality checks meet acceptance criteria and report any deviations.
• Manage SAP transactions: create purchase orders, determine material FIFO, post goods issues, and bulk postings.
• Plan, execute, and adjust production schedules, coordinating with other departments.
• Drive process excellence by improving cycle time, yield, and equipment utilization (OEE).
• Train new joiners and supervise implementation of GMP/HSE practices.

Required profile

• Experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Ability to lead operators and maintain strict discipline on the shop floor.
• Familiarity with GMP, HSE, and quality compliance procedures.
• Proven capability to communicate effectively during shift handovers.
