Assistant Manager / Manager – Projects (Petroleum & Infrastructure)

About the role

The Assistant Manager / Manager – Projects will lead the planning, execution and control of large‑scale projects in the petroleum, refining, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, steel, power, and infrastructure sectors. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret project scope and develop detailed execution plans aligned with approved schedules.
• Optimize cost, time and processes to meet scope, budget and timeline targets.
• Obtain statutory approvals, registrations and licences; manage local purchase requirements.
• Prepare pre‑PO documents, tender specifications, BOQ, BQC, GTC and conduct technical evaluations.
• Monitor progress, conduct weekly/monthly review meetings and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with vendors, HQO, and plant operations (for brownfield sites) to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Implement quality systems, verify material and workmanship compliance, and maintain CTE registers.
• Promote safety culture, conduct trainings, toolbox talks and ensure zero accidents.
• Manage contract labour documentation and ensure compliance with wage and licence regulations.
• Handle stakeholder requirements, including statutory authorities, audits and vigilance.

Required profile

• Minimum 65% marks in qualifying degree for UR/OBC/EWS candidates; 55% for SC/ST/PwBD.
• At least 6 years (Assistant Manager) or 9 years (Manager) of relevant post‑qualification experience in supervisory or executive roles on project sites within the listed sectors.
• Experience with project service providers such as PMCs or LSTK contractors is desirable.
