Assistant Manager – Customer Service (Oil Additives)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Customer Service will own the end‑to‑end order‑to‑cash cycle for Evonik’s oil additives business in Thane. The role involves close interaction with customers, sales, logistics and finance teams to ensure timely order processing, delivery and issue resolution while adhering to trade‑compliance and credit policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales orders, inter‑company purchase orders, credit/debit notes, sample and return orders in SAP.
• Generate and analyse order, inventory, overdue and credit‑limit reports; resolve SAP errors.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with GKAs, logistics and transport partners to meet customer KPIs.
• Manage credit risk by liaising with India Accounts and overseas credit teams.
• Support sales forecasting, stock allocation and offer tracking.
• Handle customer enquiries and complaints through the CRM system, including on‑site visits when required.
• Prepare GST reconciliation, import documentation and assist logistics with clearance procedures.
• Compile monthly MIS reports on sales, inventory and receivables for business managers.
• Provide marketing and event support, and act as backup for team members.

Required profile

• Graduate degree; certification in supply‑chain management is preferred.
• 8‑10 years of experience in order‑to‑cash, customer service or related functions within a manufacturing or chemicals environment.
• Strong understanding of trade compliance, credit management and logistics coordination.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• SAP (order processing, reporting and error resolution).
• CRM software for customer interaction management.
