Assistant Manager, Accounting

About the role

Join Altisource’s accounting and analytical team in Bengaluru, where you will lead staff in general accounting functions and ensure accurate month‑end reporting for specific revenue streams. This role combines hands‑on accounting work with coaching responsibilities and close interaction with finance shared services and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, verify and report financial information at month‑end close for designated revenue streams.
• Maintain internal financial controls, including general ledger reconciliations, cash application, receivable ageing, and monthly accrual, pre‑payment and amortization schedules.
• Coach and collaborate with accounting staff, fostering a positive work environment.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages that compare current results with prior periods and explain key variances.
• Support internal and external audits, SOX assessments and regulatory compliance for the assigned revenue streams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of experience in finance, accounting, controlling or audit, preferably at an assistant‑manager level.
• CA qualification with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Proactive risk identification in financial reporting, accounts receivable and payable, with mitigation recommendations.
• Ability to lead automation and streamlining initiatives for month‑end close processes.
• Strong attention to detail, work ethic and a positive, hands‑on attitude.
