Area Sales Manager – Insurance (Kottayam)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead its insurance sales operations in Kottayam and surrounding districts. The role involves building a high‑performing field team, driving revenue growth, and expanding market presence within the assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and supervise a team of field sales executives.
• Set and achieve sales targets, consistently exceeding performance goals.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions, training programs and performance reviews.
• Oversee field sales operations to ensure effective implementation of sales strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and key stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive market expansion.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, sales processes and regulatory requirements.
• Perform regular field visits to support the team and drive business growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of achieving and surpassing sales targets.
• Strong people‑management and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Deep understanding of the Kottayam local market and fluency in Malayalam.
• Ability to thrive in a target‑driven, field‑based environment.
• Immediate availability or ability to join within 10 days is highly preferred.
