Area Credit Manager – Coimbatore

About the role

The Area Credit Manager will oversee the credit portfolio for the Coimbatore region, ensuring high credit quality while supporting business growth. This senior position leads a team of credit officers and works closely with sales and operations to balance risk and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of credit officers.
• Develop and enforce credit strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with regulatory guidelines.
• Manage the full credit lifecycle: appraisal, sanctioning, disbursement, and recovery.
• Conduct detailed credit assessments and financial analysis for individuals and businesses.
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate credit risks through robust underwriting and portfolio monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external banking regulations.
• Collaborate with sales and operations to meet targets while maintaining credit standards.
• Prepare and present credit performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.
• 8‑10 years of credit management experience in financial services, with 3‑5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing credit portfolios and achieving quality targets.
• Strong knowledge of credit appraisal, risk management, and banking regulations.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the Coimbatore market is highly desirable.
