APQP Program Quality Engineer (Battery, Product & Integration)

About the role

Exponent Energy, which builds the energy stack for commercial EVs in India, is looking for an APQP Program Quality Engineer in its New Product Development team in Bengaluru. The engineer drives APQP discipline across battery, product and integration programs, validates quality steps, takes part in root cause analysis during builds and collaborates on service Fault Tree Analysis documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Own and track APQP gate readiness across battery, product and integration programs, from proof-of-concept through series production
• Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans and DVP steps are genuinely validated before gate sign-off, and flag skipped or shallow validation to the Function Lead
• Drive quality action items to closure and coordinate quality checkpoints across design, process and integration workstreams
• Take part in RCA during builds (proto, pilot and production) using 8D and 5-Why methods, and track RCA and CAPA closure
• Build and review Fault Tree Analysis documents for service diagnosis, keeping them updated as new failure modes are learned in the field
• Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans and checklists meet IATF 16949 standards, and give program-level quality status to the Function Lead and NPQ Lead

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering field
• 1-3 years of experience in APQP or program quality engineering
• Strong process discipline, comfortable driving a program's quality cadence rather than just documenting it
• Preferred: prior experience in battery or vehicle integration programs, exposure to Fault Tree Analysis, and familiarity with 8D / 5-Why RCA
