Applications Engineer – India

About the role

Kennametal India is seeking an Applications Engineer to expand its market share in the machine tool OEM sector. The role focuses on delivering high‑value tooling solutions, supporting sales engineers, and driving technical adoption of Kennametal products across key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop high‑potential accounts, delivering project proposals and application support.
• Conduct seminars, training, and on‑site demonstrations for sales and distributor engineers.
• Submit monthly reports covering offers, project run‑offs, and open application issues.
• Lead project run‑offs at customer sites, obtain sign‑off, and resolve tooling issues with cross‑functional teams.
• Generate case studies and best‑practice documentation for internal circulation.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in cutting‑tool application, sales, or process engineering.
• Strong knowledge of machining fundamentals, process design, and re‑engineering.
• Experience with fixturing concepts; machine programming experience is a plus.
