Application Engineer – Display & Electronics Platform

About the role

3M is seeking an Application Engineer to join its Display & Electronics Product Platform team in Pune. You will work with global product development, sales and marketing teams to create high‑impact applications for consumer and industrial electronics, while driving new product introductions and field evaluations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with global Application Engineering, Product Development, Sales and Marketing to develop and replicate applications.
• Identify optimal 3M solutions for customer needs through testing, trial results and detailed reporting.
• Represent the full 3M portfolio for Display and Electronics in presentations, training sessions, conferences and technical interactions.
• Provide launch support for new products, creating documentation, demonstration tools, videos and training materials.
• Gather customer insights, conduct competitive analysis and generate new product ideas.
• Specify 3M products on OEM engineering drawings and support transition to manufacturing sites.
• Develop and plan lab infrastructure, define equipment specifications and support procurement.
• Deliver training to internal teams, distributors and customers via online, field and shop‑floor sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Materials Science, Electronics, Physics or Chemistry).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D, product development or related engineering roles.
