Android Mobile App Developer

About the role

Metyis is seeking an Android Engineer to join its Software & Technology team. You will create clean, maintainable, and scalable native Android applications while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver enterprise‑grade mobile solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop native Android apps using Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Collaborate with React Native developers to implement platform‑specific Android functionality.
• Build native modules and integrations for enterprise mobile applications.
• Translate UX/UI designs into high‑quality Android experiences.
• Ensure technical feasibility of designs and optimise performance, scalability and responsiveness.
• Integrate Android apps with Shopify Headless APIs, Azure Middleware, ASPOS and other backend services.
• Implement features such as barcode scanning, biometric authentication, push notifications, deep linking and offline capabilities.
• Participate in effort estimation and provide technical input for new mobile features.
• Work closely with backend developers, architects, QA engineers and DevOps throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Proven experience building native Android applications.

• Effective communication with designers, product owners and senior stakeholders.
