Advanced Tax Advisory Specialist (Direct Tax & GST)

About the role

ExxonMobil is seeking an experienced Tax Advisory Specialist to provide advanced guidance on direct tax, GST, and transfer pricing matters. You will work closely with business teams to design tax‑efficient structures and ensure compliance with Indian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Support business units by interpreting statutory requirements and recommending optimal tax solutions.
• Analyze new investment proposals and identify applicable tax incentives and optimal structures.
• Prepare and submit documentation to tax authorities, handling interactions with Assessing Officers and GST officers.
• Represent the company in faceless assessments, litigations, appeals, and tribunal proceedings.
• Monitor regulatory changes in direct and indirect tax and implement necessary process updates.
• Assist in the preparation and review of annual transfer pricing documentation.
• Identify and propose process improvements to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from ICAI.
• 3 to 8 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of Indian Direct Tax and GST laws and practices.
• Experience with large accounting or auditing firms is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
