Accountant – Global Business Solutions

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to lead accounting operations within its Global Business Solutions organization. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant accounting across worldwide entities, focusing on cash accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations and journal entries during month‑end close.
• Review cash and sub‑ledger transactions, perform FX and variance analysis, and support financial adjustments.
• Support reporting activities, including scorecards and dashboards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process improvements and handle escalations.
• Assist internal and external audits, ensure SOX compliance, and strengthen control frameworks.
• Manage special projects such as entity transitions, process improvements, and new acquisitions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA, CA, CA Inter or equivalent preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year in cash accounting.
• Strong understanding of sub‑ledger, AP, AR, intercompany accounting and GAAP/IFRS reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle accounting systems.
• Advanced MS Excel; knowledge of PowerBI and Power Automate.
• Experience leveraging AI and automation for process efficiency.
