Accountant – Australian Taxation Focus (Kottayam)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our growing team in Kottayam. You will work closely with Australian‑based clients, gaining hands‑on experience with tax returns, BAS and cloud accounting while developing a solid foundation in Australian accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, including bank, credit‑card and payroll reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing financial statements such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, including year‑end reporting.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and individual tax returns in compliance with ATO regulations.
• Support small‑business clients with bookkeeping, GST management and ongoing reporting requirements.
• Ensure all financial data is accurate, consistent and aligned with Australian taxation standards.

Required profile

• B.Com, M.Com or semi‑qualified CA/CMA/CPA.
• 2–4 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Preferable experience with Australian accounting standards and CA/CPA firm environment.
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in Australian accounting.
• Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail and professional communication.

Required skills

• Xero cloud accounting software.
• Bank, credit‑card and payroll reconciliation.
• Preparation of BAS and individual tax returns.
• Financial reporting (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet).
