About the role
Arista Networks is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to provide high‑level support for its data‑center and campus networking products. The role works closely with customers, as well as software and hardware development teams, to resolve complex technical issues.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to customer product inquiries via phone and email, addressing installation, operation, maintenance and compatibility concerns.
- Troubleshoot hardware equipment and software applications, recommending corrective actions.
- Document customer communications and recurring technical issues to support product quality and development programs.
- Collaborate with Customer Engineering, Software, and Hardware teams to diagnose and communicate problems.
Required profile
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, dynamic customer environments while balancing communication needs.
- Strong analytical mindset with triage skills and a high aptitude for learning and teaching new features.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Working knowledge of the networking industry, products and protocols.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with network protocols and technologies such as AAA/TACACS, ACL, ARP, BGP, DHCP, 1G/10G Ethernet, Flow Control, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4, IPv6, LACP, LLDP, MPLS, NAT, OpenFlow, OSPF, PIM, QoS, RIP, sFlow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, VRF.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting tools like IXIA, tcpdump, Wireshark (or similar packet generation and analysis tools).
- Strong comfort level with Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, and shell scripting.
