Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML) – Trust

About the role

Airbnb’s Trust team protects the community from fraud and ensures safety across the platform. As a Senior Software Engineer focused on AI/ML, you will design and productionize machine‑learning solutions that defend against evolving online and offline threats.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve large‑scale ML systems, pipelines and product integrations for both batch and real‑time use cases.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists and other engineering teams to define requirements, prioritize features and quantify impact.
• Productionize, monitor and operate AI/ML models at scale, building observability, alerts and dashboards.
• Mentor and lead engineers, fostering a collaborative AI/ML culture within the organization.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend/platform engineering experience, preferably with applied machine learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java and solid data‑engineering foundations.
• Experience building end‑to‑end ML infrastructure and productionizing models in large‑scale tech environments.
• Familiarity with test‑driven development, A/B testing and incremental delivery.
