About the role
The MINRO centre at IIIT‑Bangalore seeks a Project Associate to develop and test mechanisms such as novel robotic grippers for manipulating 3‑D objects with diverse geometric profiles.
Key responsibilities
- Design, prototype and evaluate robotic grippers and related mechanisms.
- Conduct experimental testing on 3‑D object manipulation and report performance metrics.
Required profile
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Strong academic record.
- Industrial or practical experience preferred.
Required skills
- 3‑D modelling using SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Computational tools: Scilab or MATLAB.
- Signal processing and control systems fundamentals.
- Robotics knowledge, especially manipulators and grippers.
- Kinematics and strength of materials.
- Dynamic modelling of mechanical systems.
What we offer
- Remuneration aligned with existing government pay scales for project associates.
- Initial 1‑year contract with the possibility of extension based on performance.
- Project duration of approximately two years.
