Nurse – Community & Street Health

About the role

Provide basic nursing and medical care to people living on the streets and other vulnerable populations, conducting regular street visits and community‑based interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients’ health conditions, vital signs and immediate medical needs during outreach visits.
• Provide first aid, wound care, basic treatment and prescribed medications as directed by a Medical Officer.
• Identify medical emergencies and arrange timely referrals to hospitals or healthcare facilities.
• Assist the Medical Officer during consultations, health assessments and medical camps.
• Support screening for common health conditions and ensure proper follow‑up of identified cases.
• Educate beneficiaries on hygiene, nutrition, medication adherence and preventive healthcare.
• Maintain accurate patient records, case notes, treatment details and referral documentation.
• Coordinate with social workers, outreach workers and other team members for comprehensive care.

Required profile

• Qualified as ANM, GNM or B.Sc. Nursing.
• Willingness to travel to different locations and work in field‑based settings.
• Commitment to treat beneficiaries with dignity, compassion and respect.
