Mechanical Engineer – Power Plant & Gas Turbine Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in power‑plant and gas‑turbine balance‑of‑plant (BoP) engineering. The role involves both pre‑sale tender activities and detailed design, procurement and hand‑over of gas‑turbine based power plants.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret customer specifications and define technical scope for aeroderivative plant tenders.
• Analyse cost drivers, prepare preliminary Bills of Quantities and support competitive pricing.
• Identify technical risks in the tender phase and propose mitigation measures.
• Prepare and evaluate supplier offers, issue RFQs and conduct technical bid assessments for major plant items.
• Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for raw water, demineralised water, gas and liquid fuel, firefighting and effluent systems.
• Produce final deliverables such as P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, piping material specifications and valve/instrument schedules.
• Manage procurement cycles, vendor coordination and project hand‑over activities.
• Support sales teams with 3‑D visualisations, plot plans and customer presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in gas‑turbine BoP design for simple and combined‑cycle power plants.
• Strong knowledge of multi‑fuel applications (natural gas, LPG, butane, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with technical bid evaluation and commercial gap analysis.
• Ability to translate high‑level customer requirements into detailed technical documentation.
