Machine Assistant – Manufacturing (Medical Devices)

About the role

Essity is seeking an experienced Machine Assistant to support the production of medical device products at its manufacturing plant in Ponda, Goa. The role involves operating, setting up, monitoring and troubleshooting line machines and ancillary equipment according to fixed specifications and Standard Operating Procedures. You will work as part of a shift team, ensuring smooth operation, material availability and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and set‑up main production machines, printers and ancillary equipment efficiently.
• Perform tool changeovers and adjust machines within defined technical limits.
• Monitor material and resource availability to keep the line running.
• Check product quality against specifications, reject or block non‑conforming items.
• Complete required documentation such as BMR, in‑process inspection reports and failure registers.
• Handle rework of quarantined material and support CAPA investigations.

Required profile

• High School diploma with ITI or a mechanical/electrical diploma.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Machine Assistant in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal coordination.
• Ability to take initiative, solve problems and work in shift rotations.
