Welding Engineer / Manager

About the role

The Welding Engineer/Manager will lead the development, qualification, and execution of welding processes for structural, vessel, and piping projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and review fabrication drawings for structural, vessel, and piping components.
• Qualify and approve welding procedures before fabrication starts.
• Plan and conduct welder training and qualification programs.
• Select appropriate welding consumables and manage inventory to guarantee on‑site availability.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement through new welding methodologies and automation techniques.
• Maintain low weld repair and rejection rates while ensuring quality and safety.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME, API and other international welding specifications.
• Proficiency in interpreting structural, vessel and piping fabrication drawings.
• Understanding of welding metallurgy for carbon steel, stainless steel, low‑alloy steels, copper and nickel alloys.
• Familiarity with basic NDT techniques.
• Experience in procedure qualification, welder training and consumable management.
