Software Engineer - Java

About the role

Gartner IT is seeking a motivated Java Software Engineer to join the Marketing Integration/Intelligence team. You will help build scalable, secure applications that enable sales and service teams to work more efficiently, using modern web, data analytics, and integration technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and architects to translate complex requirements into automated solutions.
• Design, develop, and deliver Spring Boot and Spring Batch applications that integrate with relational databases, AWS services, and REST APIs.
• Write clean code following standards, and create unit, integration, and deployment tests.
• Review peers' artifacts, produce design documents and style guides, and suggest UI or architectural improvements.
• Participate in a 2‑week Agile sprint cycle, contributing to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of professional software development experience using Java.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, high ownership, and effective communication.
• Ability to work independently or within a fast‑paced Agile/Scrum team.

• Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Batch
• Relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and SQL
• Stored procedures, materialized views
• ETL processes, job scheduling, data batching/streaming
