Principal LV Engineer (Rail)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal LV Engineer to lead electrical design for rail infrastructure projects in Bengaluru. The role involves delivering low‑voltage systems such as platform lighting, power distribution, points heating and signalling power, while ensuring compliance with client and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of electrical design packages across rail stations and lineside M&E projects.
• Act as Lead Engineer or Contractor’s Responsible Engineer, checking designs for compliance with client requirements, industry standards and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, electrical and lighting calculations, and CAD drawings using industry‑standard software.
• Provide technical and commercial oversight, including design planning, risk management and quality assurance.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development and chartership.

Required profile

• BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Electrical Engineering with chartered status (or working towards it) or equivalent professional engineer licence.
• 12+ years of experience in railway electrification and power design, including experience as a checker, CRE or Lead Engineer.
• Deep knowledge of rail low‑voltage systems, especially lighting, points heating and signalling power.
• Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MicroStation, ETAP, AMETECH Trimble Pro Design, Electrical OM and DiaLux Evo.
• Strong technical writing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
