About the role
The Zonal Merchant Lead is responsible for driving merchant acquisition and activation across a defined geographic circle. This role ensures the brand’s visibility in the marketplace, supports cross‑functional teams, and leads a team of merchant executives to achieve growth targets.
Key responsibilities
- Acquire new merchants (both small and large‑format retail) within the assigned circle.
- Activate merchants and ensure they meet throughput and unique‑customer targets.
- Maintain brand visibility in the market and monitor competitor activities.
- Coordinate with marketing, MIS, and sales teams to secure necessary support for merchant initiatives.
- Plan and execute strategies to meet acquisition, activation, and revenue goals.
- Train, develop, and mentor team leads and merchant executives.
- Provide regular updates to management on market dynamics and performance.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of the local geography to allocate resources effectively.
- Proven experience in merchant acquisition and activation.
- Ability to lead and develop a sales team.
- Excellent coordination skills with cross‑functional departments.
