Waiter/Waitress – Hotel Service in Chennai

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Waiter/Waitress to join the dining team at Park Hyatt Chennai. You will deliver personalized, high‑quality service to our guests, ensuring memorable dining experiences in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests, presenting menus and recommending food‑and‑beverage pairings.
• Take orders, serve meals and beverages, and handle cash and credit‑card transactions accurately.
• Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly, escalating unresolved issues to supervisors.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, monitor inventory, and minimise waste and spoilage.
• Upsell and cross‑sell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Maintain impeccable grooming, hygiene, and a professional appearance at all times.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen, bar, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in hotel or upscale restaurant operations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Cash handling and credit‑card processing.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Upselling and cross‑selling techniques.
• Ability to recommend food‑and‑beverage combinations.
